Chrysler Group Begins Viper Production


The Chrysler Group has begun production of the new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10, which is being built at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit. The Conner Avenue facility is features hand-build, with skilled "Craftspersons" manning 26 work stations on a 705-ft. assembly line--48 hand-picked UAW workers assembling each vehicle.

The 2008 Viper is powered by an all-new 600-horsepower 8.4-liter SRT V-10 engine and a new powertrain. It sets a new performance benchmark, reaching 60mph in less than 4 seconds. The Viper will arrive in local showrooms in five new exterior colors, four ne interior color combinations and a new wheel design.
